Rebrand and Name Change
After sixteen years in business as Prodigy Pixel, this was not a decision we took lightly. It was time for a rebrand and new website with our last redesign launching back in 2013.
As we got started on the rebrand project, talks about the name kept coming up, so we entertained the idea of changing the name as part of the rebrand. We felt like it was time for a fresh start. Plus we kept remembering all the ways the old name had been confusing when saying or spelling it out.
We landed on “Lucent” after A LOT of meetings, Slack chats, and loads of other ideas that didn’t feel quite right. The word has several meanings:
Lucent: Giving off light; luminous, clear, bright, shining; lustrous.
We really liked how the word and its meanings were a metaphor for clients who know their business well, but might feel in the dark when it comes to design and digital marketing. So here we are, now Lucent Digital, ready to bring clarity to your digital marketing.
A huge thank you to all of you that have worked with and cheered us on over the years.
For our current clients, the transition should be fairly seamless.

Are you still the same company?
Yes, other than the new name, we are still the same legal entity and continue to serve our existing clients. Our phone number and @prodigypixel.com emails will still work and we’ll accidentally refer to ourselves as Prodigy Pixel for a while.
Are you still offering the same services?
For the most part, yes. If we’ve worked together in the past on projects, we’re still happy to work with you in that capacity.
